Big Sandy Superstore Arena News
The band boosters has a contract with the Big Sandy Superstore Arena to supply volunteers at various events. The boosters and band members have been volunteering for the BSSA for the past three years. For our efforts, we are rewarded with a commission check each month based on the income from the events worked. This form of income has been a major part of our fundraising efforts.
If you would like to volunteer for an event, contact Cliff Patrick, Tom Dorsey, or Sandy Hammock.
By volunteering your time at an event you are helping the band earn money for the band program as well as you get to know your fellow band boosters. However, you have to remember that you are "working" for the Big Sandy Superstore Arena and you need to abide by their rules. You are also representing Spring Valley High School and your actions is a direct reflection on our boosters and our band program.
The following is a general outline of what the duties and responsibilities are of those that volunteer to work an event at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena:

The band booster organization relies so much on you, the volunteer, to operate as efficiently as it does. I encourage each and every one of you that has never volunteered or participated much with the band boosters, to take the initiative and volunteer.
You will receive so much satisfaction knowing that you are doing your part in supporting the band. You are also earning money for your child's individual account as the money earned from the civic center is split between the boosters and the band members that work the event.

Individual Accounts |
|
Every student that participates in fundraising for the Spring Valley High School band has an individual account. A certain percentage of each fundraiser is deposited into each individual account based upon the amount raised for each fundraiser. The purpose of the individual account is to help offset the costs associated with being in the band. Individual accounts can be used to pay for band camps and trips.
Any excess funds will be returned to the student upon departure for a trip. If a student leaves the band for any reason, unused funds will revert to the general band account. To access the individual accounts, click on the link and enter your password. There is also a copy of the individual accounts in the band room.
